Answers
  1. I've got some old cine film reels but I'm not sure what's on them?
A great reason to transfer. There's bound to be some surprises on them! Don't forget we never charge for lengths of unexposed film.

  2. Should I transfer to VHS or DVD?
We would always recommend DVD as a digital format for superior picture quality. However, we can produce VHS copies if required.

  3. I already had my films transferred to VHS. What's the point in me doing it again?
Your VHS tape will not last forever. We will provide you with digital masters which will.

  4. Will I have to re-transfer when and if DVD becomes obsolete?
Even if DVD becomes obsolete, you will have data disks to transfer to any new format with ease

  5. What kind of film can you transfer?
    • Single 8
    • Standard 8
    • Super 8

  6. What will happen to my original films?
You post to our secure PO box and we will return your films back to you by recorded delivery.

  7. What will my DVD be like?
Unless you request otherwise, your DVD will be labelled clearly and in a transparent hard case. It will play on insertion into a DVD player. For longer transfers (multiple reels) we provide a menu system from which you can easily navigate your footage - based on the titles you have provided us with (e.g. "Majorca 1972", "Tom's First Birthday" or "Reel 1", "Reel 2", etc.).

  8. I'm thinking of it as a gift for someone - do you offer further enhancements?
Cine film is a wonderful format on its own but coupled with background music and custom titles you can give someone a truly unique present that they will never forget. Don't underestimate the possibilities, contact us and request our free demo to see what we have done for clients in the past.

  9. Can I edit the footage myself?
If you have a home computer and a basic grasp of editing software you could give it a go. The data disks we provide, (included in the cost of the transfer), contain all your raw footage ready to be imported.

  10. Can you edit the footage for me?
We will always edit out unexposed, black or damaged footage (and the "leaders" if required) from your final movies, but for further editing, contact us for a quote.

  11. How long will it take?
Our usual turnaround time is 10-14 days for transfer.
